The project

In March 2026, official consultations began for the construction of a new well in the village of Merina Thioune. The project is made possible by the contribution of a private donor, A.N., and is co-financed (85% by the donor and 15% by the Municipality of Merina Dakhar), with the aim of transforming the beneficiaries into active partners. The well was inaugurated on the 30th June 2026.

• Thanks to this well, a one-hectare community garden has been established, providing a vital resource for local food security.
• The management and sustainability of the garden are guaranteed by the support of the Center for Territorial Development Promotion (a Senegalese entity), which ensures technical organization and daily monitoring of agricultural activities.
• The women of the community were trained in farming activities.
