The project
In 2021, an old manual well built in the 1990s was transformed into an automated system with a water tower (château d’eau), making it suitable for agricultural irrigation. The intervention was funded by the Associazione Antonio e Emilio Giaffreda.
- Thanks to this innovation, a one-hectare community garden has been established, providing a vital resource for local food security.
- The management and sustainability of the garden are guaranteed by the support of the Center for Territorial Development Promotion (a Senegalese entity), which ensures technical organization and daily monitoring of agricultural activities.
- The women of the community were trained in cultivation activities.
Grown in this garden:

Onions

Cabbage

Potatoes

Tomatoes

Okra

Lettuce

Peppers

Peanuts
